A Sad Day.

Such a sad day for Philippine Music and TV Industry today, as it had just been announced on Eat Bulaga! and reported on Balitanghali today that the "Master Rapper" FRANCIS MAGALONA has succumb to cancer. He is just 44.

2009: Expectations

This 2009, we all have experienced a crappy year... from the TV Programming of the Big 2 dumb networks, Blagoevich Scandal to Global Economy, we all hope that they should be ashamed for what they have done.
But we also experienced the greatest of all the events and triumphs, like the US Presidential Elections (and Barack Obama's win), Manny Pacquiao's winning streak, and the revamping of the (once) ABC Channel 05 to the (far better and the what I think is the greatest channel yet) TV5.

Like everyone else, everyone wants to forget the year 2008...
But we all know that we can learn from the experience that happened.

Next year, I really hope that we all make amends to all of our mistakes and let's be hopeful for the things to come. If you can, BE POSITIVE... Something will be waiting for you if your patient, good and hard working enough.

HAPPY NEW YEAR FOR EVERYONE!
AND CHANGE IS COMING TO PHILIPPINE TV... Yes It Will!

Ichigo lost its voice.

Even though I hate and still hate GMA Network for making fun of an epic anime, particularly BLEACH... Being dubbed by Celebrities / Amateur Dubbers. But I'm not here to make fun of them yet again, because some of them have earned my respect...

One of which had been Mark Angelo Cielo, the dubber behind Kurosaki Ichigo.

Although I (and some others) have made some criticism about his dubbing and being "Ichigo," he's actually the good one. I guess 'yan siguro ang dahilan kung bakit nanalo siya sa amin munting yearly poll (Otaku's Verdict) nung 2007 bilang Celebrity Anime Dubber of the Year...

Apologies for the insult... but heck, compare any dubbing of Rukia to Yasmien Kurdi's!!!

But anyways...
Marky Cielo has unfortunately died on 07 December 2008 at a very young age of 20.

Sa ngalan ng ZEN Otaku Honbu at mga Pinoy Anime fans, nakikiramay po kami sa mga magulang, mga kaibigan na naiwan ni Marky.

Kung nasaan ka man... sana'y masaya ka.

"IT HAD BORED ME ALREADY."

I don’t know why the bloody-hell am I saying things like this, since I still think that Code Geass is a Very Great Anime programme (pun intended) but after watching Episode 15 of Season 1 (shown on 01 December on TV5), something in my head just clicked which says… “I have a feeling that it will not go the way that I’ve imagined.”

Which you can imagine, made me a little disappointed… and ending up making the episode really boring.

Not that I don’t like Villetta’s uncensored nudity on that episode — Yes, TV5 is showing Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion on Primetime 11:30 GMT. TV5 seems to be that the reason why it is being shown in Japan on late-nights and in the United States on [adult swim] is because of the Blood, Gore, Violence and Nudity… AND I LIKE IT! — But I guess it’s the way I felt towards the series, maybe you can call it gut feeling.

———-

Even though it’s not in my philosophy to watch, read, or even know the next episode before it is being shown on either Terrestrial or Cable/Satellite TV — simply, I hate fucking Spoilers. But unfortunately my curiosity had overpowered my (so called) philosophy (Curiosity > “Philosophy”)… YET AGAIN! And no thanks to the bloody internet.

But yet again, I’ve based my perceptions of the programme because of the opinions of people who have watched the programme…

———-

Although I’m not exactly with those mushy couples crap, there’s something in it that had been felt… WASTED.
and Yes… I’m talking about character Shirley Fenette, which (unfortunately) now one of those characters they call as “the USELESS HEROINE.”

After those “research” I’ve been doing (I haven’t actually seen the R2 episodes) fom those blogs and fansites, I can actually say that THEY SHOULD HAVE DONE BETTER. But it seems that the author, Goro Taniguchi, is blaming Sunrise because of all the timeslot changes that led to a major rewrite, which became one hell of a trainwreck.

I don’t know why but something in me wanted to say this…

HER CHARACTER SHOULD HAVE BEEN DONE MUCH BETTER, SHE DO NOT DESERVE TO BE USELESS.

I just felt that they could have been a better couple with Lelouch, rather than Kallen or that low-life C.C…
Why? fuck, I don’t know as well… At least it could be better than be used by the Geass two times for nothing and DIE for nothing! (Example: CODE GEASS fanfic)

But don’t get me wrong about the Shirley thing ( albeit I have a 42% crush on her… hehehe! ), they could make some changes with the other characters, maybe putting a Geass on Suzaku per se… JUST MAKE SURE THAT THE PROGRAMME COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER!

———-

And now, I’m on an another hard decision to make…
SHALL I CONTINUE WATCHING THIS PROGRAMME, OR NOT?

But the problem is, I have that motto of “Don’t Start what You cannot finish”
And I have already started watching CG Season 1 (on TV5), and I don’t want to be decided by a fucking coin-toss, i really stacking up all the PROS and the CONS that I can find…

For me, It is as serious as when I decided to have a break after being DEBARRED on University of Santo Tomas (I only lasted a year with 2 semesters on that school… nice environment but crappy subjects and much crappy professors.)

And I need to decide, since there are only 10 left for Season 1…

———-

Returning to the issue with Taniguchi…
I just hope that he will not yet retire, as stated on the link, because of the shame of what happen at CG R2… goddamn it! He’s still young to retire!

Make at least an alternative chapter or something… crap, getting obsessed here!

AND SO MANY QUESTIONS UNRESOLVED!
Oh well… Abangan na lang natin ang mga susunod na kabanata… kun magkakaroon man. (Let’s just wait for the next chapter… if there will be another.)

In Memoriam (Part 1)

Currently Listening: "Alone" - Gensomaden Saiyuki EP1

These may be one of those days that it's just too hard to celebrate because something bad happened, and although I may not be related to these people but I really feel the pain of losing someone too, although not a part of my extended family. And on this first part of the blog, it will be all about the untimely death of the Philippine Actor Rudy Fernandez, died last Saturday (June 7) at the age of 56, and the imfamous Moderator of NBC "Meet the Press" Tim Russert, died Friday (June 13) at the age of 58. Although I'm not related to both Daboy and Mr. Russert, I only know them through the television, but this may be one hard thing to write...

Wow... two different people that changed lives, and after they die... everything will never be the same, and that's what I can say to both Daboy and Mr. Russert. And the worst thing is... both had happened before Father's Day, which I really think is a total bummer.

--------------------

First off will all about the late Rudy Fernandez... He is a very great and well-respected Actor, but (according to his family, friends and colleagues) he is one funny, always reachable, trusted guy. Although he'd faced many challenges in the past, including his seperation & annulment on his first wife Alma Moreno, he succeeded it. At the time when he had been diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer, his family and his colleagues got together and never left him... until his death, they have been one with him. In behalf of his family, friends, colleagues, fans... Thank You and I Salute You for being a Great Filipino, I know that you're in a very good place right now... sana ay masaya ka.

He had been survived by his wife, the actress Lorna Tolentino, his first child (from Alma Moreno), Mark Anthony Fernandez and 2 other children from Lorna Tolentino.

--------------------

And lastly will be all about Tim Russert, but before I talk about his legacy... I would like to clarify that the only time that I knew or seen him will be during NBC Nightly News, his guesting on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" and "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" and more recently (8 Months Ago, during the Global Destiny exodus) watching "Meet the Press" on CNBC Asia. He had always been described by his colleagues and competitors in the news business as Tough but Fair, and he is that damn tough guy to break... whenever you are on the "hot seat" during MTP, and you cannot escape! But whenever he's outside of that studio (according to everyone that he knew) he his funny, he's approachable, trusted, kind and a loving person... And when it comes to his family, he's more than that... Proof? "Big Russ & Me" and "Wisdom of Our Fathers" are the No. 1 Top Sellers in the NY Times. I think that no one can replace him on that hot seat, and he will always be remembered.

He had been survived by his wife, his son and his Dad, "Big Russ"...

I'll continue my discussion on this sad topic on the Final Part...

The Price to Pay...

I want to be a TV journalist someday and I know what are the risk and the consequence to be on that job, especially if you are on the frontline in Gaza, Afghanistan or Iraq... one example of which is the Reuters' cameraman that had been killed on the line of fire with those "Killer Darts."

And I want to say my condolences to the family and to the people of Reuters for the killing of Fadl Shanaa.

The question now is WHO'S TO BLAME? Well I somewhat think that the Israeli Troops are to blame on not seeing the "signs..." the Big "TV" and "PRESS" marked on the car and the Camera. But I can say as well that the Journalists can be blamed as well because they are practically on the middle of a war zone, but the problem is they know what can and will happened, especially in a war zone like Gaza.

I wish I have the power to ask the United Nations to have an investigation for the Israeli troops allegedly targeting journalist, but the problem is they don't do anything! Oh well...

Earth Day: Genuine Cause?

This blog can be seen on both My Little Thought... (theblockerph.blogspot.com) and Quite Frankly: A Further Look... (theblocker.wordpress.com)

The opinions expressed on this blog only discuss from the Philippine's Point of View.

Most people would know that this 22nd of April is Earth Day and this day is for Our Mother Earth which has been slowly being destroyed by those idiots in the Developed Countries, including the United States and China, and it seems that many people are starting to be a part of the cause, since most of us have ignored this for so long.

But one thing that I want to ask is... Are their contributions to the environment genuine?

I'll be focusing more here in the Philippines... For those who don't know, there will be an Earth Day celebration and party here in the Philippines on the 25th of April, three days after the Earth Day proper... maybe because if the celebration has been done on a tuesday night, since T. Morato Ave. is a major road and have to be closed down for this party, then it will cause more havoc than good.

There are so many artists playing on the concert/party... but do they really intend to play for the environment? or just because it is free and can get more publicity? I have no doubts about the vocalist of Radioactive Sago Project, etc... And add to that, at the end of every party here in the Philippines this has always been the scenario for years now... Trash... Garbage... Rubbish... EVERYWHERE!!! And it's up to the organisers and the so-called "Metro Aide" to clean all the rubbish that had been left behind. Doesn't that contradict the value of what the organisers want to "enforce" to the people? Isn't It!?

I'm calling all organisers and people who are behind this activity to PLEASE DO SOMETHING TO BE AN EXAMPLE TO ALL PEOPLE! So that the people will be taken more seriously to this matter.
